8th Annual Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Relay Run Adventure

We hope your 2012 is off to a great start! We are getting very excited about this year's relay. We know many of you are getting very excited too.

Silver Sage Sports Performance

The Reno-Tahoe Odyssey is proud to welcome our newest sponsor Dr. Andrew Pasternak and Julie Young of Silver Sage Sports Performance Center. Julie, Director of Silver Sage Sports Performance, is a 12-year US National Cycling and World Championship Team member. She has developed a 16 week training plan specifically for the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey, see attached flier (under quick links below). She also coaches remotely, so any of you out of towners may also participate. The program begins 2/15/2012. Julie can be contacted at jyoung@o2fitness.net. And check out silversagecenter.com for more information about Dr. Pasternak and Silver Sage Center for Family Medicine.

Reno-Tahoe Odyssey on Facebook and Twitter

Now is the time to like the event on Facebook and follow it on Twitter. We are posting on a frequent basis. We are sharing various information about the relay. We are discussing each of the legs of the course. We are asking for your thoughts about a number of topics. There have been a lot of great responses. Please join in the fun!

Registration Update:

We are close to 100 registered teams. We are ahead of last year's pace when we ended up with 209 teams. We will cap the field at 250 teams. So register soon, before the next price jump at the end of February. That way you secure your spot and you save a little money which you can put into your van decorations or a team party.

If you have registered but you have not provided us with all of the information about your team members, please do so. There is a lot of data for us to accumulate and process. The sooner, the better.

Are You An Individual Runner Looking For A Team?

Are you interested in running in the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey but you think that you cannot form a team of 12 runners?

One way to find a team is to post on the event Facebook page. Many runners have found teams and teams have found runners that way.

Reno Running and Fitness and Reno Running Company are working together to create teams made up of unaffiliated individual or small groups of runners. Teams are open to all running ability levels, from beginners to advanced. Please keep in mind these teams aren't aiming for first place but are geared towards having fun. For more information, contact Michael Connors at michael@renorunningandfitness.com. Just show up ready to run and have fun! Reno Running and Fitness and Reno Running Company will take care of the rest!

Later in February we will send out another email blast with more information about the event. Including lodging and vehicle rental deals. And for the local teams we'll let you know when to have your volunteers start signing up on the on-line module.

Happy running!
